Small Repair is performed when there are cuts, cracks, punctures in the membrane, blisters, or areas of rotten or weakened plywood. The goal is to fix a specific defect and restore the roof’s watertight integrity with minimal intervention.

Preliminary Inspection

Before starting the work, inspect the roof for any damage. It is important to identify defects in advance that cannot be addressed at later stages. Detailed information on how to inspect the roof is provided.: RV Roof Inspection

If any unplanned repairs are identified, inform the company office so the PM can discuss them with the client. Additional work can only begin after it has been approved.

Cleaning the Work Surface

• Sweep the Roof: Remove dirt, dust, sand, and other debris from the roof.
• Additionally, during any repair (except for small repairs), we clean the gutters.
• Remove the Refrigerator Vent Before Washing.
• Before Washing, Remove the Cover That Seals the Vent.
• Wash the roof using one of the following methods:
• pressure washer
• a brush with a hose if the pressure washer is not working
• a bucket with a cloth if the pressure washer is not working
• a rough brush if there is no access to water at all

If the roof configuration does not allow for safe standing on its surface (due to a slippery or sloped area), the washing should be performed from a ladder. After that, use a special squeegee to remove any excess water.

• Ensure the Roof is Completely Dry Before Applying the Coating. If Necessary, Use a Brush, Blower, or Wipe It with a Cloth to Remove Any Remaining Moisture.

There are two types of Small Repair work:

Surface Repair (Patch):

• For small scratches, cracks, or holes, apply fabric tape, then cover it with a layer of silicone without fiber to seal the surface and prevent moisture from getting in.

Partial Plywood Replacement:

When a section of plywood is damaged, carefully cut out the affected area, install a new piece, reinforce the seams with reinforce fabric, and cover them with silicone.
