With Silicone

With Silicone – replacement of plywood or OSB during repairs where TPO/PVC or a coating system is not planned. After replacement, the surface is sealed with silicone.

Removal

• Before starting work, remove all components installed on the plywood sheet as well as any membrane laid over it.

<aside> 💡

• If the membrane is intact and can be reused, cut it on three sides and carefully separate it from the plywood, leaving the fourth side attached. The membrane will be reused and laid back in place later. </aside>

• Partial membrane removal for plywood replacement. Full sheet removal: Unscrew all perimeter screws holding the sheet. Gently pry the plywood from underneath and lift it up around the edges.

• Partial plywood removal (damaged area): Place a new sheet over the damaged section and trace its outline with a marker. Use a circular saw to carefully cut along the traced lines. Use a multitool for cutting corners.

Set the circular saw depth to match the thickness of the existing plywood to avoid cutting wires or damaging the roof structure

Roof Interior Inspection

• Check the internal roof structure. Inspect the framing for rot or cracks — major repairs may be needed.

Preparation

• Sheet cutting: When replacing a full sheet, measure the needed size, cut the plywood to fit, and mark out any openings in advance.
