Preliminary Inspection

Before starting the work, inspect the roof for any damage. It is important to identify defects in advance that cannot be addressed at later stages. Detailed information on how to inspect the roof is provided.: RV Roof Inspection

If any unplanned repairs are identified, inform the company office so the PM can discuss them with the client. Additional work can only begin after it has been approved.

Cleaning the work surface

• Sweep the roof, removing dirt, dust, sand and other contaminants.
• Also clean the gutters during any repairs (except small repairs)
• Remove the Refrigerator Vent before washing.
• Before washing, remove the cover that covers the vent.
• When the air conditioner is on the roof. If the base of the air conditioner is metal, the cover does not need to be removed. If the base is not metal, the cover must be removed.
• Wash the roof with (or): -pressure washer -brush with a hose if the pressure washer does not work -bucket with a rag if the pressure washer does not work -coarse brush if no water is available at all

If the roof configuration does not allow for safe standing on its surface (due to a slippery or sloped area), the washing should be performed from a ladder. After that, use a special squeegee to remove any excess water.

• Make sure the roof is completely dry before applying the coating. If necessary, use a brush, blower or wipe it with a cloth to remove any remaining moisture.
