Preliminary Inspection

Before starting the work, inspect the roof for any damage. It is important to identify defects in advance that cannot be addressed at later stages. Detailed information on how to inspect the roof is provided.: RV Roof Inspection

If any unplanned repairs are identified, inform the company office so the PM can discuss them with the client. Additional work can only begin after it has been approved.

Cleaning the work surface

• Sweep the roof, removing dirt, dust, sand and other contaminants.
• Also clean the gutters during any repairs (except small repairs)
• Remove the Refrigerator Vent before washing.
• Before washing, remove the cover that covers the vent.
• When the air conditioner is on the roof. If the base of the air conditioner is metal, the cover does not need to be removed. If the base is not metal, the cover must be removed.
• Wash the roof with (or): -pressure washer -brush with a hose if the pressure washer does not work -bucket with a rag if the pressure washer does not work -coarse brush if no water is available at all
• Make sure the roof is completely dry before applying the coating. If necessary, use a brush, blower or wipe it with a cloth to remove any remaining moisture.

Remember or take pictures of the location and method of fastening of all removed elements to make it easier to reinstall them once the work is completed. Store the removed elements in a safe place to prevent any damage.

Checking problem areas

• If there are problems on the roof (scratches, cracks) we mark them with masking tape.

Removal of old sealant

• Remove old sealant from the front & back cap and where it is damaged.

Covering masking tape:

• -Put masking tape around the perimeter of all penetrations: -plumbing vents -all vents -skylights and other equipment -frond & back cap -RV perimeter

When coating 1,2 layers we do not have to glue masking tape on the membrane as the whole roof will be covered with silicone.

• Mix the soil with water in a ratio of 70% soil to 30% water
